I am so ready for spring! I just love this old print, what a discovery! :-) I don't think I'll discover anything like this in my roses this year, probably just a bee!
Thanks for looking!

Old Print Daisies and Cherries in Blue Pitcher
I just love this picture! It came from an old postcard in my collection--I enlarged and cleaned it up a bit. This also gives me a feeling of springtime, which after a long cold snow-filled winter, I need it!

Before and After: $5 Desk
Sometimes you can have a bit of luck by being late to an estate sale. Last summer I hit a sale on the last day, thinking all that would be left would be old food packages and bathroom supplies. Lo and behold, I found this desk for the bargain price of $5!
They just wanted it gone. Yay for me! I knew I wanted to so something French-y with it, and I also wanted to try a gray color. Gray has never been a favorite of mine, but in blogland I've been seeing some lovely things in gray, so I thought, why not? I also knew I wanted the drawer fronts covered with French graphics, so where better to turn than the fabulous The Graphics Fairy? I searched for "france labels" and had a very hard time choosing. I also ended up reprinting my choices on an off-white paper--the gray I chose had some brown in it and the white was too stark. The drawer at the top of this picture has the label applied on top of some script scrapbook paper. I liked the mix of cream and gray. And clear glass knobs kind of topped it all off.
I am taking some better pics and submitting them to The Graphics Fairy for her Brag Monday. Have a great day!

Vintage Postcard Girl with Flower Basket
One of my many collections is vintage postcards. So many of them are like little works of art. This is one of my favorite ones. It had some water damage along the edge so I tidied it up a bit. I hope you enjoy it!

Just Starting Out
Hi anyone who may be reading this post (mainly people I've begged to follow me so I don't look like a total nerd with zero followers)--I am new to this, but I'm diving in! I've loved reading other blogs and then deciding what I liked best about them, thinking that's the direction I want this blog to take. Anything vintage, cottage, antique, even crafty things that blend with my old crap cherished pieces, checking out local shops, garden pieces and gorgeous English cottage gardens..... I live in a 100 year old farmhouse in central Oklahoma, so I'm not exactly in thatched roof country, but I try to blend in the things I love. I also hope to have giveaways in the future, hopefully something someone out there will enjoy! I sell on eBay and have shop space in an antique mall in Guthrie, OK called Recollections. A lot of work but a lot of fun too! Fair warning--any photo I post may or may not have a dog's rear in it, but that's a chance I take when my dogs are just a part of everything around here. Thanks for reading, and if you decide to follow, THANK YOU!
